Painting with Pudding

Can you believe we are in MAY!!! I can't but we have a lot going on this month like finding a house because my husband is being transferred. We have Mother's Day coming up and my birthday.  So while I'm trying to get the baby on a proper sleeping schedule my other two are running around like crazy. So we decided to paint with pudding today.

All You Need:
Parchment paper
Tape
1 container of pudding for each child
Big Marshmallows

I taped down the Parchment paper and then let the girls go to town. Chloe wasn't really into painting she just wanted to eat the marshmallows.

Hope this gave you and idea for you to do with your children. They enjoyed it and of course the best part of it is eating it afterwards.

Easter Bunny Cupcakes

Happy Easter!!

I hope everyone had a happy Easter we sure did. Mariah and I made Easter bunny cupcakes and they were yummy. Chloe had a blast it was her first year doing an Easter egg hunt and once she figured out the eggs had candy in them she was more excited, and for Brooke it was her first Easter. Well lets get to it.

First we baked the cupcakes with white cake mix of course you can use whatever you prefer but with 3 kids and starting the cupcakes at 8 o'clock at night I went simple so I used the cake mix. I also went simple with the icing which was Betty Crocker's spray can cupcake icing. ( I know this is way simple but I have a new baby up all night and 2 others running around all day I'm lucky I had time to make cupcakes). I used the star tip and made the grass then Mariah put tooth picks through the peeps and placed them on the the cupcakes. Then she placed two robin eggs in front of the peep. It's simple, quick and cute and that is what I was going for so if your a tired mom like me these were perfect.

 The Bunny Army.
Mariah was so proud of these.

What You Will Need:
1 box of cake mix
1 spray can of cupcake icing ( you can use whatever you prefer)
2 packages of peeps ( I bought blue and yellow)
1 package of robin eggs

Directions:
Follow the directions on the box of the cake mix, bake and cool.
Next using the star tip pipe the grass on each cupcake.
Then put a toothpick through the peep and place on the cupcake.
Finally place 2 robin eggs in front of the peep and you are done.
Enjoy!!

Brooke Elizabeth is Here

My baby girl is finally here!!

Friday March 14th my husband and I met up with my mom and mother-in-law at the hospital where I was being induced at 11am. I was exactly 37 weeks and had some symptoms of preeclampsia. They started me on magnesium which burned my arm for awhile and then they started me on pitocin. At 7cm  I asked for the epidural and that is when it all went downhill. As the doctor was putting the epidural in I only felt pressure in my left side and was very uncomfortable. A little while later I started throwing up and passing out and the doctors couldn't figure out why. I remember opening my eyes and my husband told them to check my sugar as I am a Type 1 diabetic but that wasn't it. After a little while more I remember coming back opening my eyes and six nurses were there. My nurse was talking to another saying that my blood pressure dropped but it didn't read for 35 minutes. A doctor came in and said that the baby's heart rate was dropping and they had to do a c-section. Well they prepped me, took me in and I could barely keep my eyes open. My husband came in and they started he told me that she was out but I didn't hear any crying. I kept waiting and waiting and finally I heard her cry. I heard them say she was 10lbs 1oz and 22 in long. I saw her for 2 seconds before they took her to make sure she was okay. The next day I got a phone call in the room saying that Brooke was being taken to the NICU for her sugar being low. I was still very very sleepy but I got down there and they explained to me that she was put on an IV for not being able to keep her blood sugar up and she wasn't eating. I told them that I could barely keep my eyes open she probably felt the same way. On March 17th St. Patrick's Day I was discharged from the hospital and was now staying at the Ronald Mcdonald house while Brooke was in the NICU. After the 4th day I got a phone call saying they were going to start Ad Lib feeding her which meant she could eat what she wanted when she wanted but that day I went in she still had a feeding tube in and the nurse told me they were making her gain weight before they started the Ad Lib feeding so if she didn't do well she wouldn't loose anymore weight. The next day came and went the next day came and went and we were a week in at the NICU. I asked one of the nurses when they were going to start Ad Lib feeding and she told me think weeks not days she has to eat 85ml by herself without the feeding tube. The next day my husband rose hell and told them we wanted her transferred to a hospital near us because we still had my mom and our 2 girls staying at the Ronald Mcdonald house. That night I got a call saying they were removing the tube. Well she ate great by herself and after 24 hrs they discharged her. We are all home safe and sound and she is doing great.

Brooke Elizabeth was born on March 14th 2014 at 10:25pm 10lbs 1oz 22in long and one tough cookie.

All cuddled up and happy to be home.

Mariah Graduated VPK

Congratulations Mariah!!!!!!!!!!

Mariah graduated VPK today. She had so much fun but it has come to an end. She received the helper award for helping the teacher and organizing the classroom. She can't wait for kindergarten and right now it feels like a long time from now but I think this year is going to fly by just like last year. We are so proud.

My 5 year old has 2 more weeks left of school so check back here I'm sure I'll post some activities. On top of all that we are trying to buy a bigger house talk about crazy. I have been crockpotting a lot lately but I haven't been posting so I need to play catch up. Things are about to get a little more crazy around here in the next 2 months but I will try to post some more yummy recipes maybe that will be my New Years Resolution. My biggest hit this year was the Candy Crackers a.k.a "crack" as everyone calls them because they are addicting. I make them around the holidays and this year I made it for a cookie exchange party so I will definitely post that soon. Hope everyone enjoyed the holidays Happy New Year!
